The short version
Poof does not collect, transmit, or store any of your personal data on any server, anywhere. There are no accounts, no sign-in, and no backend. Every task you create lives only in Poof's local database on your own device. We, the developer of Poof, never see it.
1. Data we collect
None. Poof has no networking code of any kind. Your tasks, notes, due dates, themes, and every other setting are stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device SwiftData framework. Nothing is ever uploaded, synced to a server we operate, or shared with us in any form.
2. Analytics & tracking
Poof contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising identifiers, no third-party tracking libraries, and no off-device crash reporting. We have no way to know how many people use Poof, what tasks they write, or how they use the app. That information never reaches us, because it never leaves your phone.
3. Notifications
If you enable reminders or the daily planning nudge, Poof schedules those notifications directly on your device through Apple's notification system. They are local notifications, not push notifications from a server. No task content is ever transmitted to make them work. If you decline notification permission, the rest of the app works exactly the same.
4. Cloud sync
Poof does not use iCloud, CloudKit, or any other sync service today. If you use Poof on more than one device, each device keeps its own independent local copy. Nothing is shared or merged between them.
5. Your control over your data
- Deleting a task removes it immediately from your device.
- The Auto-Delete setting (Settings → Data) can clear completed tasks automatically after a time you choose, or right away.
- Deleting the app deletes all of its data. Because we never had a copy, there's nothing left anywhere else to remove.
6. Children's privacy
Poof does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information from anyone. Poof isn't specifically directed at children under 13, but nothing in the app changes based on age since no data is ever gathered from any user.
7. Third parties
Poof does not integrate any third-party SDK, ad network, or analytics service. The only party involved in running the app at all is Apple, through standard on-device iOS frameworks (SwiftData for storage, UserNotifications for reminders). Both operate entirely on your device and are covered by Apple's own practices, not ours.
8. App Store privacy label
Poof's declared App Store privacy practice is "Data Not Collected," reflecting that the app has no networking code at all.
9. Changes to this policy
If Poof ever changes in a way that affects this policy (for example, if a future update introduced optional cloud sync), we'll update this page and the date above, and any new data-related feature will be explained plainly in the app before you can turn it on.
